I'm Bethany, the manager of City Stay Apartments, a role I've held since 2011. My journey with City Stay began part-time after completing university, working alongside my father, Mark Phillips, who founded the company in 2008. Our first foray into serviced apartments started with the acquisition of five units in Milton Keynes' Vizion and Hub complex. The inspiration behind this venture came from Mark's experience renting out one of his London apartments to a serviced apartment company.
Back in 2008, the concept of staying in a fully furnished apartment was novel. Most travelers relied on hotels, missing out on the space and amenities that serviced apartments offer. This was before the era of Airbnb, making it an exhilarating time to pioneer in the serviced apartment industry, especially in a city like Milton Keynes, known for embracing innovation.
Fast forward 16 years, and City Stay continues to thrive in Milton Keynes and Bedford, catering to both short and long-term stays. Our journey has been one of continuous learning, navigating industry challenges, embracing new technologies, and adapting to the evolving needs of our guests.
